Alfonso Solano de Francisco – Biography
Alfonso Solano de Francisco was born in 1946 in Bogotá, Colombia.
Director of the architectural project of the Palace of Nariño, seat of the Presidency of the Republic of Colombia between 1973 and 1978.
Appointed architecture course director of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 1995.
His teaching experience and professional practice encompasses the fields of study of: social housing, Inclusive design for people with disabilities and forced displacement by violence.
Solano de Francisco lectured on these topics worldwide and implemented Project Genesis, Project Vertical Locating and the Workshop Sense Methods, with workshops held both at national and international level.
In 2007 received a National honour distinction of Teaching Social Work With Meaning by the National Professional Council of Architecture and Related Professions of Colombia.
Distinguished with the Order Juan Antonio Pardo Ospina, issued by the Institute for Blind Children.
