Ponto Atelier – Biography
Ponto atelier is a young and enthusiastic architecture studio founded in Lisbon in 2014. Their founders Ana Pedro Ferreira (1987 Funchal), Pedro Ribeiro (1987, Évora) and José Gustavo Freitas (1989, Funchal) developed their academic path in the University of Évora (Portugal) and the Politecnico di Milano (Italy).
Since the studio’s foundation, they have been developing a series of projects and ideas, which combine theoretical and territorial analysis with a practical approach to work, pushing further the limits of an idea for a place.
Last year Ponto atelier was invited to present the project “Shelter” in the exhibition “Mostra Espanha 2015” held in Évora and Madrid. More recently, the studio was invited to participate in the conference cycle “YAD – Young Architects Day” (Évora) and, in 2016, the atelier won the 1st place in the architectural contest “Two Houses in the Selvagens Islands”, a project currently in development.
Presently, Ponto atelier’s work in progress includes an housing rehabilitation project located in the historic city center of Évora and an agro-tourism proposal for Alentejo’s country side.
