Petra Gipp – Biography
PETRA GIPP is educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. In 2009 she started the studio Petra Gipp arkitektur in Stockholm that she leads today with on-going projects in different part of Sweden. Her works include the award-winning projects Kivik Art Centre, and the inventor’s studio The Cathedral, the later nominated to the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2015.
Petra has exhibited widely, including at the Venice Architectural Biennale in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. Her works have been widely published in many leading books and magazines. She is currently working on a book that aims to examine the basic elements of building to enhance the understanding of architecture’s values. The project is designed to contribute to a new analysis of Nordic architecture. Petra is a teacher and external critic at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, in Stockholm and an examinator at The Aarhus School of Architecture and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Petra is part of several important competition juries, including The Kasper Salin Award 2015-2016, awarded by The Swedish Association of Architects.
